As owner and executive chef of Café Firenze in Moorpark, Fabio Viviani knows about high-pressure lifestyles. This native of Florence, Italy, who keeps his grandma’s 500-year-old recipes at the restaurant, also feels pretty comfortable in kitchen combat. Eternal Dodger Tommy Lasorda has moved from a baseball field to a field of grapevines, metaphorically speaking. Café Firenze in Moopark serves risotto that has been described as “amazing” by 805 Living staffers; the chef says that their risotto is cooked to order, so it takes a little longer, but it is worth the wait. You’ll find a chicken and porcini risotto on the regular menu, and specials ranging from risotto with sliced calamari, clams, and cherry tomatoes to a zucchini and calamari version.
